Arts & Culture

Clayton Visual Arts is the main visual arts programming body in Clayton. A nonprofit organization of volunteers, the group coordinates a monthly rotating art exhibit in The Clayton Center gallery, an annual exhibition featuring Clayton High School students, Artalacarte Art Walk and Historic Homes Tour, the annual Art Faire juried competition, and a juried poster contest every two years.

The group was founded in early 1999 by Margaret Ritchie, Carolyn Howard, Ramona Cash, Kathy Ragland, and Ron Hasson. The first event was the Art Faire, which later became Millstock Music and Art Faire featuring artists exhibiting their works and performances by local music groups. Millstock has since been replaced with the Mondo Roots Festival, a culturally diverse street fair in Downtown Clayton celebrating local music and art.
